Why do people think that communism is bad?

Most of the hatred for communism arises partially from McCarthy era propaganda and partially because of the anti-socialist propaganda that continues to be perpetuated today. You must understand that, through direct democracy, socialism/communism puts power in the hands of the mes instead of a small handful of people; therefore, that handful of people who run the show in our current system would lose a lot if we were to transition to communism. So they put lots of effort into spreading lies about communism so that the mes will never wake up. It is a sad situation but I have hope for the future generations.
