Does he still love me?

me and the father of my kids split up 8 months ago, but he still spends the night with us, tells me he loves us, spends time w me... idk how to read this, I'm still madly love with him but I don't want to say anything that will push him away... I want to be with him, be a family but how can I tell him? and how can I fig out if he still feels the same way?
